Genus Palla

An Afrotropical genus consisting of four species with only one so far recorded at Semuliki: Palla violinitens. A very scarce butterfly with only a male ever sampled. A second species P. ussheri has been recorded in Masindi district, western Uganda (around 100 km west of Lake Albert) and in the DRC Semliki Valley and Ituri Forest (Ducarme, 2024) while a third species, P. publius has been recorded in the DRC Ituri Forest and Semliki Valley. Both these species (P. ussheri and P. publius) will more than likely be present at Semuliki.
